I should be taking delivery of my SHO next week, but I was curious as to (if there was any) long term issues with running regular fuel vs premium fuel with the SHO engine? I know that regular fuel gives up about 10HP vs premium in the car, but I was more concerned if it affected driveability etc...

I haven't had any issues. I run 87 most of the time with no problems. I know of a number of Gen 4 owners who run regular with no issues.

Regular fuel

I have 2010 SHO, and my manual suggests regular might be a good choice during the cold weather season (I live in Pittsburgh, PA), and premium a better choice during warm weather. Makes sense, as regular ignites more quickly, which is a bonus during the winter. TBW

I don't think you will have problem as long as you stick with a brand name. I always use a Top Tier Gasoline. Here is a link to the site that explains what this is and the brands that support it. Hope this helps..

You wont have any issues as long as you run a good quality fuel. You'll just lose power and fuel economy.

I think I JUST found out why people the world over think higher octane=more power when (all things being equal - including spark timing) the OPPOSITE is usually true.

If it were my car I'd make sure to run premium at least in the hot summer months. Preignition is the devil.
