From time to time you will get one. With our database being in excess of 6 GB now, it's just bound to happen from time to time.

Just so you guys know, each time there is an error, whether it's just a glitch or something drastic that requires my attention, I get an email with all the details. Basically the info that you see on your screen when you get one, I get an email with the same info including your user name and the time.

Now, combine that by say 100 users getting one. The compound that number by each try that each user makes trying to view the forum, or each time a user refreshes their screen. If the error is really bad I can end up with literally thousands of emails to let me know.

So, if you get a database error:

1) There's no need to post about it here because I promise you I know about it unless I'm not on the computer when it happens.

2) There's no need to send me an email. If I'm on the computer when it happens, I promise you I know about it when it happens. The first thing I do when I get on the computer is check my email and believe me when I tell you, 1000+ emails coming in gets my attention pretty darn quick. ;)

3) If you get an error for more than 15 minutes and can't get on the forum or can't post or can't check your ***, then more than likely I'm not on my computer and I don't know about it. I'm not always at home so there's very little that can be done until I do get home.

Many of the mods have my cell number. I'm not going to give it out here for obvious reasons, but if you have the number of a moderator and an error is happening for more than 30 minutes or so (in the middle of the night does not count) you might consider calling one and they can either call someone who does have my number to let me know or they can call me directly. AIM is also a good method of reaching someone who will have my number. Heck, sometimes I'm even on AIM at times, but most of the time when that happens I'll already know about the error.

In the future, I may try to set up some sort of paging system where people can page me if an error occurs and nothing is done about it within a reasonable period of time. I'm not sure how to go about that but I'll do some reading up to find out. If anyone has any suggestions on how to go about doing that just let me know. I'm all ears. ;)

That's it, I just wanted to cover a few things so everyone knows about how the database errors work.

I know. You can give me heck any time your heart desires. Keeps me on my toes.

I'm sure that the software would allow it, however how is the question and the next question would be, would my phone/service be compatible with such a thing. It's Nextel so the answer is probably no.

What happened to the "Thanks" thingy? Some threads have it and some do not...

I think all threads have the option, but if you hit your daily limit, I think it doesn't show up anymore.
