Recall Question

I'm not sure if my SHO was ever brought in for a recall. I was under the impression that I could call Ford and have them run my VIN number and they could tell me if any recalls had been done. I called up the Ford Dealership by me and they said I would have to contact the dealership that it was originally purchesd from... How the **** am I supposed to do that???

They are full of $hit. Tell them to run an OASIS report and it will tell of any recalls. Or go to Fords website under the My Ford section (the owners section) and enter you VIN and it will tell you if there are any open recalls.

Are you talking about the SFB recall?

if so, just pull up the carpet and sound pad under the clutch. If they recall has been done, there will be a large rubber plug in the steel floor.

Or just take a peek under your car... if you see large silver flat washers on the bottom of the SFBs then the recall has been done.

So...

No plug = no recall performed
No flat washers = no recall performed

BTW: I recently found a reciept showing that Ford did do the recall on my '89. Well, no plug or flat washers... Even the computer database shows that it has been done, when in fact, IT HAS NOT been done.

My point is that you shouldnt just trust Fords database.... take a look at your car for yourself.

Just go to Ford with you vin and tell them to check if they did the recall. If they didn't, any ford will do it for you. thumb
