went to check out a sho last night and the car's exterior was mint. kid wasn't there. one thing i did notice was the rear wheels were sitting very low in the wheel wells. i pushed down on the back end and it was VERY bouncy, more than it should have been. what would caushe this. sounds like bad struts, but the struts down set the ride hight. so would a bad toursion bar cause this. going back to drive the car today so i would like to have an idea of what it could be.

Springs set ride height. Broken springs are common but prob just worn out & saggy along with worn out upper spring mounts. You will hear them when you drive it.

Worn springs, worn mounts, most likely worn everything. I would plan on doing springs/struts/mounts if you end up buying it.

depending on the price, it might still be worth it if everything else checks out.

thanks for the response guys. ya i mean its the cleanest sho i've see so far. as for the springs there are no springs in the back of sho's just the torsion bar that acts as the spring. do these wear often for i'm new to torsion bars. what would cause the rear to bounce like crazy. bad struts right. they aren't absorbing the shock, but the rear is also way lower than it should be. the seller wants 1800 for it. i think i'm going to offer 1400 see what he says. reasonable offer? 150k on the car

Are you sure you were looking at a SHO? SHOs don't have torsion bars, just struts and springs on all four corners.

The strut and spring being worn out will cause the bounciness. A Monroe quickstrut would replace the whole assembly (spring, strut, and mount).

ya just got back from looking at the car. ever heard the term don't judge a book by its cover. ya car was a piece. idle was horrible (real choppy), the rear suspension was def gone, oil cooler had a leak somewhere becaues after the car had been running for awhile it started to smoke, both mufflers were rotted out, etc etc. so ******. the guy wouldn't let me take it out to test drive (wonder why) so i was like ya i'll bring it over the this small parking lot right next to his house. went two drive ways down and turned around because i needed to get on it to see how it shifted. pulled back in the drive way and the guy got all in my face ****** that i drove a sec down the street. i thought i was going to have to throw down with this f'in clown. so i told him his cars a ************* and left. why can't i find a car owned by normal people??
