Rear proportioning valve

My proportioning/bias value on the rear axle of my '94 is no good.

It must be ceased inside the block as hardly any brake fluid gets through to the passenger rear caliper. Thus caliper is providing no braking force on the RR rotor.

Called a local dealer, and they indicated the part was no longer available.

In a USA forum a few years ago, there was a link to a site that sold machined plugs that apparently overrode the problem, but with that said, the bias value was, with the plugs, taken out of play.

As the Bias Value relieves brake pressure on the rear wheels so that they do not lockup on hard braking, due to the weight transfer to the front, most members had indicated that they hadn't encountered any problems with braking having installed the plugs.

Any thoughts, or anyone know where Bias block can be bought??

Make sure the flexible rubber lines aren't the problem before you start messing with the proportioning valve. The rear lines have a bracket on them that bolts to the strut to keep the lines from rubbing on the wheel/tire. Corrosion forms between the rubber and the bracket and eventually pinches the line closed. I've dealt with this problem on both of my SHOs. Disconnect the hard line at the junction with the rubber hose and see if you get fluid there.

SHO Source sell what they call "bias plugs," which I think are what Jamoeba is referring to. They state that these plugs are desirable when you change to larger front brakes, as the additional grab from the front may mess up what the 'weight adjusting' proportioning valve may be designed to accomplish.

Since I plan on a brake upgrade soon, I've wondering about an adjustable prop. valve, the kind with a turnable ***, so one could fine tune the braking for track days or street. Any experience with these?

You can have mine for the price of shipping, I took it off my car and I won't be using it again. It worked fine, it's not brand new but it's in better shape than a lot of what I see.
