ya, ive looked into that, i noticed it a while ago.. I think there is away i can do it though with custom brakets.

last time I was at the boneyard, I ran across a sho with black leather seats that had been murdered 
they unstitched the back, and took only that piece. But, I was looking at trying to salvage them, if you look at the front side of the verticle seat, bottom, stick your hand up in one of the corners and I recall there was a zipper there, maybe you can unzip it like that.
I need to get back to the boneyard and pull those headrests from the murdered seats now...
