I put my 94 Gabriel Ultra struts (got em real cheap) on my 93 rear with the original 110K mile rear springs and the result is a really stiff ride. I also repalced the rear sway bar bushings/endlinks with moog TPR. I also used new Gabriel strut mounts.

Just wondered if anyone has used the gabriels with original springs before in the rear....and experienced a covered wagon buck-board type or ride?

I am assuming that the gabriel strut provides too much damping when combined with the original "worn" springs....so is it fair to ssume that maybe new rear Moog springs (assuming they are stiffer than stock) would be a better fit with a Gabriel strut?

I've had the Gabriel struts(with factory springs) for about 6 mos and I have not had any ride issues. It is a firmer ride than the factory struts, but it seems to offer a more controlled ride. :salute:

It could also be that I'm not used to a firmer ride....since the car was extremely mushy and clunky before I changed the struts and springs.

The springs I put in (with the gabriels) were from my 94 that had 110K on it....the 93 original springs and struts had 165K which equaled the mushy feeling.
