I have been searching and haven't come up with all the answers yet....I am lowered on eibachs minus one coil and am looking to get some tubular rear adjustable control arms...what is the best bang for the buck? I see that I can buy plug and play ones (ingalls) on shosource for $164, but was wondering if it is worth all the trouble trying to find a set in the JY....btw are GTP's the only model that have the ones that we can use?

For 164 its not worth looking for GTP ones that could be rusty and you would have to cut or get the correct taps to fix the threads so that they will screw in short enough. Then you need sleeves to adapt them.

yeah, but for less than half the price (i bet i can get a set for less than $25 bucks in the JY @ my house, and i believe the sleeves aren't much more from Josh) and a little sweat equity with a cut off wheel or a hacksaw and a wire wheel/brush/sand paper/stripper/paint/powder coat and an oven when your wife/mom isnt looking and you could save quite a bit of money.

i'm not trying to take food out of SHOSource's mouth by suggesting this route, far from it. if you have the $165 i say give mike and kurt a call and download yourself a set of the ingalls adjustable arms. however if you're in my boat and need to save where you can but still wanna put a little wrench time in on your car you can go the GTP arm route.

but then again living in AZ, i dont really worry much about rust, or finding GTPs there are alot of them down here.

I think when I got mine they were closer to $50 and Josh charges $40 plus $12 shipping. So you are close to $100 already not to mention cost of paint.

I wouldn't Powder Coat the arms as you do not want to melt the rubber.

Food for thought, (pun) I know 2 instances that have had the GTP control arms flex and permanently bend during heavy use at the track. They had to replace them. Mild street use. - I would not trust them if I'm "pushing" the car or tracking it.

great buy from sho source, fit right in without problems

good price, new bushings and not some 175k mile used GTP ones from a junkyard....

no modifications needed, other then the brake bias issue, but thats with any aftermarket control arm

heres mine from SHOSource, ingalls arms painted, if you want to see any other pics of them installed so you get the feeling of what they are like on the SHO, let me know..... these things are VERY sturdy... heavy.. but strong

Money well spend for the ajustable's, The GTP rears I think you have, to cut to make them fit! I rode in Eric's car and he has the ajustable ingalls and they feel great! I can't wait to start my suspension started!

Good choice, those are nice units. Plus, you're supporting a forum sponsor and dealing with great people.

The brake bias valve's adjustment arm is attached to one of the stock control arms. If you install anything but a stock arm, you'd have to either figure out some way to re-attach it (perhaps SHOSource sells something to do this), or install bias plugs.

Personally, I'd go for the bias plugs too. It's a nice mod.

If I were to do it all over again, I would buy the Ingalls instead of the GTP's. They just seem to be a better quality. On a side note, I haven't had any problem's with my GTP's and I track my car HARD! I made someone throw up at the convention this year!:laugh_ti::evilgrin:

Could always make your own set with 8 heim joints and weld in threads, and a bit of tubing. You'd end up close to Shosources prices I bet (assuming you have all the tools) but I always enjoy making things myself over buying them.

8 GOOD heim joints could possibly put you over the price of the ingalls arms....

You don't need to go all out, you can get mid-priced QA1 joints with teflon lines for around $15 each. That leaves $50 for steel which is reasonable. The end result is a lot better than the Ingalls arms too, you're replacing the bushings for the control arms by using heims so a lot less compliance. Is it worth it? Probably not, but like I said, I like making my own stuff.

I installed a set of BMR arms on my 1990. very noticeable improvement over the stock setup. I drilled the holes out on the body and purchased larger bolts to fit the BMR amrs. pricy option though. and I can't say it is better than another because I have not been in any other setup to compare it.
