I've been reading, there isnt too much info as far as rear brake upgrades other than the 96, and the Bias Plug. Im a going to purchase a kit from a member that is an older TCE 12.2" Brake kit for my Front. What would be a nice upgrade for the rear? Bias Plug? 96+ kit?, I know i dont want too much(Lock up reasons) Any help would be great.

I wouldn`t even bother unless you are after looks more than anything, except putting on some good pads. I`ve also added ss lines which have helped a bit. I`ve never used bias but know they do make the car break flatter.

The only rear upgrades as mentioned are the 11.6 rear upgrade: SHO Source

Also the bias plugs: SHO Source

I run both and have been fine on the track but it is near the limits.

If you want to upgrade start with one and go from there.

Since you have a Gen 1, I'd say leave the rear brakes alone. I would much rather install a more aggressive pad in the rear than use bias plugs.

I have 11.6" in the rear and Cobra PBR 13" up front and my rears are still on the same original $15 (not a typo) pads I put on with the kit in 2005. That's with a good bit of spirited canyon driving and track use. Right now, there is about 75% of the pad left.

Does your ABS system work?
Bias plugs work well with stock front brakes but if you upgrade the front with in-op ABS the rears will lock up on you.

I would leave the rears stock since they are vented and work well. I would get the best pads I could find. I think with the TCE rotors the rear bias plugs will work well with upgraded pads. TCE brakes were developed for the SHO's used at Bondurant's racing school and used bias plugs for the rear brakes because upgrade control arms used did not have a place to install the lever for the biasing.

Yup my ABS works well. I was also thinking of just a nice set of pads and a Bias plug would do me well. I definatly want the 12.2 TCE kit for the front(Trying so hard to come up with the cash for it.) but it would look better in the rear. But i think ill just do the bias plugs
