From the clutch video, you can either align the subframe with a steel rod, or you can mount it in its previous position. Does the latter preclude the need for a front end alignment afterward?

If you can reinstall the subframe in exactly the same position as before, there is no need for a realignment. However, in real life, you will probably find the steering wheel off center. I marked the location before removing the subframe and was able to eventually return the wheel to center after a couple of small tweaks of the subframe. If you position the subframe left or right of its original location the camber and wheel center will be affected. Front or back affects caster. It would be bast to have the alignment checked after a clutch job. Another one of the hidden costs in the clutch job.

What's the price range for an alignment? What exactly is done? Are there any national chain shops you guys recommend for this? I'm trying to be an informed customer.

Thanks.

Wouldn't the alignment require adjustment of the subframe? Most chains perform bad alignments from what I've experienced. They have a good machine to tell you what it's at, but they aren't good at getting it within specs. I'm talking about ntb that is.
