For those that didn't make the run, too bad for you guys. 22 said they were going to make it, 14 shoed. 10 SHOs, 1 T-bird SC, and 1 modded gen3 Taurus SE Duratec took the run. 1st leg we get stuck behind a vintage car club doing 40 to 55 mph which said on their website they were going to drive up from SA up hwy 16 to 337 out of Medina and over the Leakey but took 470 instead. I mapped us to take 470 to miss them, we didn't.

At hwy 83 and 1050 the T-bird and the gen3 Taurus called it a day. Then we tried a new road that according to the DeLorme Texas Atlas & Gazetteer would lead us from just west of Concan off hwy 83 up 1051 to Montell and hwy 55 it didn't. Dead end. It was a nice twisty road with 3 water crossings but we had to make a U turn and go back to hwy 83 and up to Leakey.

In Leakey we decide to eat lunch. I guess the restaurants in Leakey aren't actually used to people stopping and eating, due to lousy service in the restaurant we loose one SHO that returned to SA. After lunch 2 more SHOs call it a day and head back to SA. The last 7 SHOs continued on to 337 to Camp Wood where we on the way to Camp Wood run into road construction then a funeral that stopped traffic completely for about 10 minutes, think every one from Camp Wood was there.

Once out of Camp Wood we had clear sailing for the rest of the run although we changed the return route to SA some what. Paul said he timed us on one of the legs back to SA at 65 miles in 24 minutes.

The good news is no broken cars, no wrecked cars, and no stupid taxes having to be paid. WAS A GREAT RUN.

Those to make it.

Sergio from Houston gen1 mtx
Tony from Arlington gen2 mtx
Murphy from Arlington gen2 mtx
Don from Arlington gen2 mtx
MikeD/Bruce from Azle gen2 mtx
Chris from Lewisville gen1 mtx
Dale from Kerrville gen1 mtx
Jeremy from Midland gen2 atx
Andrew from San Antonio gen2 mtx
Josh from San Antonio gen2 mtx
Jay from Houston gen2 mtx
Jeff from Bergheim gen1 mtx
Andy from San Antonio T-bird SC
Luke from Burnet modded gen3 SE atx Duratec

The guy driving the gen3 Duratec posted on the TCCA board about the lsshoc fun run. The subtitle for the thread is "These guys are nutz". But in the thread he said he had "more fun than he expected" and that we were a bunch of cool guys. And he's already talking about the spring run in Austin to his chaper club members. Also he posted pics of the lineup.

I was sorry to miss everyone and I wish circumstances were different. My close friend Jaime ended up going to the hospital on wenesday with liver problems, and they wouldn't let her go till saturday after a biopsy. I spent every hour I wasn't at work at the hospital with her, so I had no internet access and didn't get much sleep..Today was my first chance to get online. We won't get the results of the biopsy until monday-tuesday and we hope the news is good, so if your the praying type it wouldn't hurt.

Anyway, hope ya'll had fun, and hope to see everyone on the next run.

This weekend blowed big time. After my friend was released from the hospital..I got news about a high school buddy that was murdered. The story is here, it's been in the news quite a bit:

Well being the newby on the run, i decieded to not take my car, 1 i thought the sus. wouldnt be able to keep up with some people **cough jeremy cough*** 2 i wanted to get the feel of the run, and what was involved. 3 i had to ride in tonys car. and by saying that, i have got to get a suuppacharger!! Dam that car is amazing, just flat out amazing. Dont get me wrong jeremy, your car is awsome in the twisties! and it got alot of power, for an auto. :D
But man, that was amazing! the scenery was beautiful, other than murphs car running rich, and me and tony behind him, coughing the whole way out to bandera! J/K murph, get her tuned up. :thumb: that day was so much fun, every minute was a blast, Well im not to sure about Sergio, trying to be the ol' dukes of hazard, :D . I cant wait for the next run, my suspension will be done, and a few performance parts are going in, along with some juice. im going to try to give tony a run for his money :bonk: . I wish we can do this alot more often, i really want to go up there and run my car on the road course. That was the most fun i have ever had period!
thanks guys!!! :thumb: :thumb:

Oh yeah, thanks for not laughing to hard at my muffler! :D

Well I had a blast both driving and taking you with me Josh! Yeah Sergio and I can get wild, and those supercharger toys are just flat out SICK! I chipped up the nose a bit and mama wasn't too happy about when I broke the news to her, but I think the new SHOFUN2 project is turning out nicely, and after cams and other stuff this winter, the HP will be there to match the grippiness!

Oh yeah the "establishment" sure had a nice basketball game on....at least for most of the features that were available, the game was more interesting...but ...well you know how that can be!!!

See everyone in the winter run or in Austin next April! :thumb:

when did you chip up the nose? When we bottom out on the one you messed up the y-pipe? or was it something else? How bad was your hood? any paint chips?

Man i wanted to run you before we left, but you were still in the room by the time we split. But there will be other times. and by then i will have MY sus. done, along with a y-pipe, cams, and some juice. we should give tony a run, just as long as he stays at 6 lbs. or maybe just 2lbs.
lets make him take the supercharger off. yeah that will be a good run. :D i cant wait to start droping all of this stuff in to her! :dribble:

After inspecting under the car tonight, I have a small dent in the tranny pan as well as a little dent in the catalytic converter cover on the front of the ypipe. I checked everything for leaks, and I guess I will chalk them up as 'battle scars' trying to keep up with Sergio...

As far as the chips go, the construction parts as well as the one road that had more gravel than blacktop took it's toll on the new paint. Guess I will need to run the Colgan front bra cover on the next one...or try that clear teflon tape that Mike D. was mentioning...can't wait for the winter run! MSR as well Don? :thumb:

By then the tranny will be able to take it! :****:

well Jay and I hung in third for the second half and that was his first time to drive like that ever, we were quite impressed with his car.
I got some video, but i had to hold the radio with one hand and the video camera in the other. So while watching the little screen we would hit a drop and the camera would go up then we would hit the bottom and the camera would go down. I had alot of fun, especially watching sergio hid the water crossing at 75 mph.... :snicker: I will deffinately be there for the winter run and hopefully "Moneypit" will be ready also.... :D

I have a pic of me and tony doing 90-5 ish around one of the turns. And some of jeremy's doing 115, on long sweeping turns. got to love a good suspension. I will be trying to post up pics, but i do have quite a bit! probably around 50 or so.

Like I told you Josh, you will have more fun with suspension mods, dollar for dollar, than engine mods until you can afford some BIG ones like cams, s/c etc....

sorry, I had to remove the pic, it was taking up space, but it was a screenshot of a speed-distance calculator showing:
65 miles in 24 minutes = 162.5mph

Thats some pretty amazing speed.....
