Ok, my car has slowly developed a knock/rattle noise, it has gotten progressively louder in the past 2 weeks, I thought it was bearings, so I stopped driving the cra, replaced them, still rattled, at that time is sounded as if it was comming from the bottom side, but then I could hear and feel it in the top rear side in the valve cover, so I took those off, and found nothing loose, or wore, or anything of that nature. The sound is really impossible to trace, I used a rod and put it to various items on the car and put my ear to it, and its seems most distinguished when its in the rear valve cover twards the cam chain. The noise is not too loud, you cant hardly hear it in park, you can hear it well when the car is in gear, and you cannot hear it when your in the car.. ANY IDEAS??? I am lost... BTW>>> No power loss at all... and motor has 81k miles.
