Random Stalling need help

Basically the car randomly stalls. It happens when coming to a stop or when pushing in the clutch to downshift. Usually the rmps go real low, 400 or so, and the oil light comes on. It's stalled only a couple of times. It smells a little like burning oil under the hood. Also the check engine light came on when it stalled, but went off when the car was back on. It idles at around 800 rmps with the heat on. It't a 92 with 100k miles. Thanks
