I've got a 95 ATX with a wierd intermittant electrical issue. It won't act up long enough for me to trouble shoot. Occasionally, when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, from park, or if it goes over a bump it acts up. When this occurs, the radio exhibis a LOUD crackling, static type noise and the automatic climate control lights go out. There's no sign of any issue with the lighting, charging systems or dash however. Wondering if anyone else has run across this. If the darn thing would just stay dead, I could probably figure it out. Thanks.

If I had to guess, i would say a bad ground or a short somewhere, but where that is, I couldn't tell you.

Found it! The wire from the alternator to the battery was rubbing on the AC compressor pulley. It had just eaten it's way through the insulation.

Excellent that you found it. It seemed like it only happened when there was excessive movement in the chassis. Though, if your motor is moving signifcantly, you may want to check out your motor mounts.
