Radiator

I just got my 1990 ford taurus sho and the radiator is bad and i need to replace it i was wondering if i need a special type of radiator for the sho engine or if i can get a regular taurus radiator

Well.....i would guess you go and get a rad for a SHO

Just a note................when you purchase aftermarket radiators, most of them will have the fittings for the automatic transmission lines on the passenger side tank. That way only one type needs to be stocked in inventory.

NOT TO WORRY!...............it will work just fine on the 5-speed. Just install and don't hook anything to the fittings. You can put plugs in the holes but it is not really necessary.

Actually even the Ford dealer's radiators have the automatic tranny cooler on them. They told me it was common part for all Tauri (don't remember the year range), and just follow roswell998's advice on ignoring the tranny fittings. That's what Ford told me to do, and seems like common practice. I left the plastic plugs in the tranny cooler fittings. Doubt it matters. Ford may specify different parts in assembly (save a few pennies on the SHOs by eliminating the extra parts), but for replacement parts, apparently they want to only stock one unit. That plus there's not too many SHOs out there, relative to SLOs.
