The second owner of my car had installed a radiator fan switch in the sunroof console. Being that I just replaced the console, I added my own switch by attemting to follow his wiring.

Well.. He had a total of 6 switchs, but only one was really wired into anything, the rad fan. So, theres alot of extra wiring I dont quite know what to decifer.

I have the switch wired in, mounted and everything, and it works, but only when the car is turned off. Which kind of defeats the purpose.

I tapped into the sunroof switch for power, similiar to what the guy had done with the prevoius switches, and grounded it on the metal piece the lights mount to. I know the switch works, but I dont know what I need to do to make it work while the car is running. The switches also had a power[I think] wire from the second, smaller harness under the sunroof console. Well, I spliced into that, and when I plugged it in, the fan didn't turn on at all, but the swtich was still working because the light on the switch came on.

I can take some pictures if they will help, but I have kind of dismantled the previous wiring. If anyone knows what I'm missing, please let me know.

Thanks :thumb:

Obviously you need power when the key is in run or accessory. Best place for that is the wires coming from the ignition switch You need to power the CCRM PCM-high speed fan circuit. Do not try to feed the fan directly through the switch.

The wire for the radiator was already there, so I'm going to assume he wired it into the CCRM. And I tapped into the sunroof switch power to get power to the switch. This is what doesn't make sense to me. This switch only works when the car is on, but the rad fan switch I added, doesn't work when the car is on. I haven't touched it since, but I was curious, and I turned the fan on and tried the sunroof switch, sunroof worked, but the light on the fan switch turned off.

I'll post some pics tomorrow.

You should start from scratch with the wiring. You need to be certan that it is wired through the CCRM, my sisters old Tempo cought fire because she let one of her "less mechanically inclined" boyfriends put in a fan switch that actually switched the power rather than the relay.
