Hey guys and gals,

I havnt been around in a while but Iv'e come across a new issue. My radiator fan does not turn on when the coolent temp gets hot anymore. What controls this fan? What seems to be the issue ussually when these stop working? (fan motor/sensor/control module?)

Any advice?

Thanks!

It could be the ECT sensor. Its the 2 wire sensor. Try a search on it and you should find pics and where to get the best one.
Do your fans work if you turn on the AC? Or jumper them?

I have been forced to turn on the AC when in slow traffic to kick on the fans and keep it cool. Is the AC fan the same as the coolant fan or are there two separate fans?

If the fan works when the A/C is turned on then it is unlikely to be the relay. IIR there is only one fan relay. The more likely problem is the ECT (coolant temperature sensor). Note this is not the tempeature sending unit that controlls the gauge. A connection or a wiring problem are also possible source of the problem.

No its on the water jacket below the throttle body. It take a bit to see, 1" deep socket will fit on it once you got the plug off. Make sure you get a brass sensor if you get a replacement.
