Hi,
I was wondering if ASFB were made specifically for the front or rear, or if they were made as 4 identical units? I thought I remembered seeing a thread that said they were made front/rear specific due to the difference in thickness of the subframe in the rear vs the front. If this is true, what would be the best way to figure out which is which. I am getting a clunk every once in a while and a forum member that was in my car said it sounded exactly like his clunk that was caused by his ASFB. All my front end components/bushings have been replaces and my strut rod caps have been welded. My ASFB are the cup style.

I believe there are some different ones out there. I know that both of the sets I have had, have been the cup style.

All the sets that I have installed have been the same size.
Both the solid and ring style.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure before I really dug into mine. They are all torqued ect, but I think they may not be sandwiching the subframe hard enough. I read about making some thin gaskets to go inbetween the metal part, or about shaving a little off the inside part to give a little better sandwich action.

Someone was making some that were a little bit different size to make up for the diff in thickness between the front and rear mounting points. They were stamped. But most of the sets out there are the same.
Do you have cup or the ol ring style?

Sometimes you need to file a little out of the sub frame hole and make sure there is no rust.

After you have driven on the new ALSFB's for a few miles, re-torque them.
I have seen them loosen up a little until they "settle in".

Also make sure your bolts and nuts are in good shape. If in any doubt about there condition, replace them.

The before and after comparison is awesome. The car will feel so much sharper to steering inputs!

:woo-hoo:
