Sorry for posting this around the forum but I need help pretty bad.

Wail installing my brand new quill sleeve is was quiet hard to get on and wail hammering on it the back of it broke off. :frown: I can't seem to find just a quill sleeve for sale. I'd rather not buy a whole throw out bearing kit.

Also the throw out bearing pin snapped off wail removing it. Can I use anything else?

Thanks in advance. I really need to get this car moving.

A straight nail or did you curve the end at all? Also I would want a snug fit but lose right?

You really don't even have to have anything on it... The plastic piece is just to hold it on the fork for installation purposes (hence why it's only plastic). I personally feel better knowing something is there though... when I broke my plastic piece I used a small cotter pin and made sure it didn't interfere with anything.

Thanks for the advice. The soonest I can get a throw out bearing kit is by Friday. Couldn't find a quill sleeve by it self soon enough. The cotter pin idea sounds best.

I've got a few of the nylon pins if you need one.

Try cleaning the quill that the sleeve slides over before you put the new one on. I noticed mine had some corrosion on it after I took the old sleeve off.

I cleaned it with brake clean and a cloth and it seemed to clean decently well. I will try using a green scratch pad to clean it off a little better.
