Ok, I found a 97SHO at a dealership and they only want $1700 for it??? So, that struck my interest so I called. I asked them what was wrong with it to warrant that low of a price, and here is what the dealership said. They told me that the O/D light was flashing, but that the tranny shifted fine in all other gears. They hooked a diag. up to it, and it came back saying something about the #2 and #3 solenoids werent functioning. What exactly does that mean? Can that be fixed without replacing the trans? If, so how much would it cost? And finally, if I were forced to change the tranny, how much should I expect to pay? Sorry for all the questions. Im a GEN2 guy, i've owned 3 of them, but I dont know jack about Gen3's. Your input is appreciated! :salute:

yes the solenoids can be replaced without yanking the tranny, do a search.

tranny rebuild usually 3K +/- (installed).

1. There is no way the tranny will shift into all gears, yet two of the shift solenoids are bad.

2. The Gen 3 SHO tranny isn't any harder to R&R than any other Gen 3.
