I have a major leak on my power steering pump!
"I am talking a puddle of fluid!" just clean up the drive way. (clr and brake cleaner)

Weird thing is i never had any problems until i took the car in for a alingment and back brakes replaced.

Do you guys think the shop caused the leak? I took the car back and he said he could fix the problem for about 180 bucks with labor included. He believes it needed new rings. The funny thing is though i never had one leak until the next day.

I told him to put everything back together because i still have a purchased warranty.

Where exactly is the leak coming from? If its coming from a line then most likely it was their falt......only thing is now that you have taken it home and its been a while its hard to prove that they caused the leak. Your best bet is to take it to a dealer and have the pump replaced.

Yeah its going back to the dealer on monday. I hate to drive the car because it is gushing the fluid out.

The power steering noise almost sounds like a cam coming loose so i really dont want to drive her until i put more fluid in for the 2 mile trip to the ford dealer.

I hope i dont have to wait for a long period of time for the part.

My car warranty has car rental for 30 bucks a day but this is without insurance so i will probably get by driving the classic 912.

The shop i went to is an excellent shop for the money, i think its just one of those things.

Hope you don't need a new pump. $180 won't even come close.

I have a 100 buck detectable on my car, so it really wont matter either way.

the alignment shop probably ruined the pump by now and was offering half ,or around that, the cost of replacement [without stating as such to you]. most likely you need pump replaced or rebuilt. hit the alignment shop up for the deductable or have dealer send bill to them.

Where is the fluid leaking from????

If it's the pump, can you see where on the pump it is leaking from? One of the hoses may have a dry rot break in them or one of the clamps may not be in place. Just check.

It was leaking right front wheel area.

Well she has been @ the dealership since late monday evening. Parts are ordered , i believe i will get a new rack , pump and seals and realighment plus a new belt too.

Grand total for me is. (about 200 bucks) 100 dollar deductable and 100 dollars for a new belt and aligment. My Chysler warranty owes $2k , WOW wee.
$1400 dollars for a steering rack! The warranty could not believe the actually price of the steering rack and asked the dealer to send the price 3 times.

I should have my car by Friday or maybe Monday depending on the parts. I would like her back before the F1 race this weekend in INDY.

I just can't believe that my car is still in the shop. The car has been finished since last friday but F-dealer is arguing with the "chrysler" warranty co. on how the payment will be paid. Chysler has given the ford dealer there credit card number to pay the bill but the ford dealer will not use it until chrysler signs a waiver allowing them to use the credit card. I tried for about 2 hours to get the darn thing solved but both ford and chyrsler are fighting about it. All i want is my darn CAR! I have called an complained about the warranty with the dealer ship i bought the car from. Of course everybody went home and i am without a car for now more than 10 days.

Enough venting , my only complaint is i asked before i bought the warranty if i would have any problems going to a ford dealer and of course they said NO.

I will never take this car to the dealer again after the job is finished.

Ok i rec my car back last tuesday night.

Saturday was the first time i took the car on an interstate road. The steering wheel is shaking @ higher speeds!

I noticed another drop of some type of fluid on my drive way.

I just can't believe that i am going to have to take this car back to TOMWOOD ford.

This is a NIGHTMARE!

I even paid for a four wheel alignment!

$2400 dollars and the car is still not right.

Thank god i only paid 300 of that!(warranty)
(new belt,alignment and keyless code )

Oh and i forgot they actual charged me 39 dollars to get my keyless code.

Any thoughts beside not going back!
