yo scott. I got a question for you. I have an 89 SHO and i think i have an oil leak on the front main seal. It leaks onto the cats and smoke comes out. It is a very slow leak. I was wondering if adding any of that "stop oil leak" stuff actually would work for me for a temporary fix? And would it harm my engine at all? please get back to me. thanks

I'm sorry, but I am unable to give you any knowledgable information on the "stop leak" products as I have never used them. Oil is cheap and if the leak is slow, you should not be seeing too much smoke. If it is a front main seal leak, it will be dripping out from the drain at the bottom of the lower timing belt cover, behind the crankshaft damper. That is also where coolant leaking from the water pump comes out. Unfortunately, this drain usually lets the drips hit the forward cat.
