Hi Group

I have an issue with My Gen 3 The service engine lite came on checked the codes and they were P0172 and P 0175 which are bank 2 o2 sensors. My scan tool also told me the vehicle was running rich in that bank. I changed all 4 o2 sensors reset the codes and vehicle was fine for about a week. Engine lite came on again and showed the same codes. Went back to ford with them and they gave me new ones possibly others were defective. Same thing light went for about a week and came back on. I reset the codes and now the light comes on every three days after I reset it. Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this.

Thank you in avance Scott 99SHO

P0172 is rich bank 1, P0175 is rich bank 2. That means that both banks are running rich. O2 codes that span both banks almost never indicate a bad O2 sensor, but instead an actual condition -- in this case too rich of a mixture.

Start by cleaning your MAF.

You could also have a fuel pressure issue.

Hi, Chris

Thank you for the information. If it is fuel pressure would it be fuel reg or the fuel pump or something else. What else should I look for? On cleaning the mass air flow sensor what is the best spray chemical to use?

Thanx Scott
