93 ATX 115,000 miles. New 190 lph fuel pump, cleaned and balanced injectors, Full 60k done at 100,000 miles. My problem is a loud ass tapping sound from the top of the engine. re-checked valve lash, timing tenioners all looks good under the cam covers. Noise is loudest from the injectors and rail. Fuel pressure reads 32 at idle. Is it possible to disconnect one injector at a time in order to eliminate the possibility of a noisy injector?

Run the KOER test. The EEC drops one cylinder at a time by shutting off the fuel injector to test each cylinder's output. See thelinks in my signature if you don't know the test procedure.

Bazooka,

I agree with Scott, and I'll add a caviat.

Place a mechanics stethescope at each injector and see if any are louder than the others. The injectors do make a clicking sound as they open and close, and like anything else that is mechanical it gets looser as it wears.

If you do not have a mechanics stethescope you can put the end of a screwdriver on the injector and hold the handle to your ear. The sound will transmit through the screwdriver. Try it, you'll like it. rangerj
