I bought my SHO from my friend, and the guy that he bought it off of lost the keys. My friend put in a new ignition lock cylinder, but obviously the keys for that won't work with the lock on the trunk/gas door access levers. The previous owner locked that lock before he lost the keys, so now to open the gas door, I have to pop the trunk via keypad and open the gas door from inside the trunk. Would a door key from another SHO unlock this? Any ideas how I can make these access levers functional again? Any help is appreciated!

You can also remove the trim piece, pull back the carpet and unbolt the lever assembly, release the cable from it and pull manually to get open for now. Then replace/rekey locks when you can.

Awesome I didn't see that when I searched. I'll try that tomorrow, thanks.

Off topic: You're from Warwick? Isn't that where the Ghost Hunters are from? I'm sure you get that a lot, sorry lol.

It's where their office is. Joe Chin actually once in a while goes to a local bar my friend works at. The new office is literally about 1 mile away. I drive by it multiple times a day. The old office is maybe 3 miles away in Apponaug where I spent my childhood playing at the beach. For as often as I drive by ... I never see them there. I'll drive by in the AM and afternoon and all the vans are out. I'll go by at 9PM ... still there, I'll drive by at 2AM and they are gone. Sucks cause I really want to meet Kris Williams :naughty:

If you want a real fix for it, a locksmith should be able to cut you a new key. That or change out the locks are the only real ways that I know of.

So do I, her hotness is epic. I like Amy too, less hot than Kris, but I'd still hit it.

You can remove the locking mechanism from the release lever easily enough, You lose the capability to ever lock it, but I've never had a need for that anyway. Just pull off the cover and cut it with a pair of pliers, I think.

Locksmith suggestion is one of the best. I did that once in home depot. Locksmith over there didn't charge me anything to modify my cylinder for the key I had. I bought bunch of keys though. If you have the key that perfectly fint into you cylinder lock, you have to pull it out and bring it to them with the key and they'll make it work. Other then that, trunk lock is relatively easy to swap, but look for power trunk lock to replace it with(the easiest way to do it).
