Sounds perfectly normal as long as the a/c compressor isn't running. When the climate control is set to anything except off, floor, or vent, the a/c compressor will cycle, and the fans will run constantly. When the fans are running constantly, you should see almost no change in the gauge temp. With the a/c compressor off, the fans will kick in at about the "O". Of course when the car is in motion the airflow helps cooling, so you may not get the fans to kick in until you're standing still.

Mine runs, on the highway, at if not below ther L. but regular street driving, it dosent go past the m, and that is stop anf go traffic....
I cant remember what temp my thermo is but, i know it didnt have a jiggle valve, so i had to drill one out, and put it at 12.

maybe i should have used something smaller than a 1/4 bit...... :bonk:

j/k... its a small hole....

Make sure your fan(s) is coming ON when you are stopped. If it is, then you could test with one of those lazer thermometers to determine the actual temperature when the gauge gives you a high reading. If the temperature is NORMAL, then you can sleep better.

As for the quarter inch "jiggle" hole, it is way to large. A 1/64 inch hole is more like it, but even that may be excessive. All the jiggle valve is for is to allow air to escape so that it can be "burped" into the over-flow bottle.
