Hi All ,
I recently bought a 95 MTX red with mocha. It's got a 103K on it. I paid 2700 bucks. I'm having problems when I'm in city trafic and the temp gauge goes about half way , I get the check engine light , and it starts reving up and down at idle. When I try to drive it I gotta keep the RPM's up or it'll buck like a bucking bronco. I notice also the tach stops working at this point too. If I shut it down and give it a rest it usually runs fine again until it get warm , and then the same thing all over again. If I keep it on the highway at like 65-70 she stays cool , and there's not a problem. Sometimes when I try to start it warm (at normal operating temp) it starts hard like it's out of time , then after 2 or 3 times she kicks over fine. I checked codes last weekend with the jumper wire(KOEO & KOER) and got 214 , 543 ... I think ... and one time it indicated 111 system pass on the KOER test. The plug wells have oil coming out ... so I'm gearing up for the 60K service. I'll probably do the front end too. Thanks in Advance !

214 is the cam sensor, 543 is fuel pump. Clear the codes and then run again. But then again, the oil could be your issue. Check the seal on the cam sensor to see if there is oil on it as well. If there isn't, don't discount a bad cam sensor. Good luck.
