Depends on how the roads are where you drive; unless the roads are very smooth, it will increase NVH and create more rattles, particulalry when combined with the extreme mounts. A better option is the Gen III SF conversion for improved steering response and keeping everything smooth and quiet.

I have to get rid of the ALSFB's on my car, The roads out here in NC are just not suited for ALSFB's. More specificly, The roads on base (where I live). The Gen III Bushings sound like a good replacement. Do they have to be modified at all?

NVH = noise, vibration and harshness You can get either 4 of the rear Gen III SF bushings for use on Gen I and II, or go for the complete Gen III subrame swap, which is what I was referring to earlier.

I installed the Gen 3 rear SFB's at all 4 corners on my Gen 2. The only mod required is a few strokes with a round file in the subframe holes to create a notch to mate with the small tang on the new bushings. It's very easy. Handling is much improved and road noise is about the same as with the original bushings. Parts cost was about $100. Highly recommended.

Shonut sells the kit for Gen I and Gen II with 4 rear 96 SFB's. IF you want better steering response and don't mind the rougher ride, go with AL, those will lead to more squeaks and rattles popping up, so you might want go with the '96's to stay smoother; matter of personal preference

Personally... I love em.. wouldn't do without them. I like to feel the motor in the stick, and in the wheel when I drive. Makes me feel like I'm really driving, instead of floating around. Some prefer an easier drive, if thats you then the Aluminum isn't for you. But if you want the front end to ride like its on rails, its aluminum or nothing. ;)
