Sounds like a bad CPS to me anyways..

It was listed for $58.99 last night on autozone, now it's back to $79.99, they sold it to me for $58.99, looks like they fixed it tho. Same one is at shosource for $114. RockAuto for $85.79. Checkers for $96.99.

I think he meant fuel filter not fuel pump...The fuel filter in under the rear passenger door and is just two plastic clips.

It's real easy, open up the fuel cap to let the pressure out.. Just pop the clips off to take off the hose fom the old filter..Look at the new filter and install it with the arrow pointing towards the engine..Done.

I remember relieving back pressure by pressing the shraeter valve on the engine intake... i put a pvc tube in it and the other end in a cup; then I stuck a pin through the tube to depress the valve....no gas leaking all over the engine this way

stupid question "IN" is from the tank right... on the filter i have no arrows just IN on the flat side???

Exactly, IN is from the Gas tank. When you take out the old filter, let the gas drain out of it and then Blow into the IN side, compare it to blowing in the new filter. If it was the cause, you'll pop your eardrums trying to get air through it.

remember...blow, not suck, otherwise your ears will pop from projectile vomiting instead.

Hmm.. Your question has been answered but I'm not catching onto your logic. A clogged fuel filter would impair the car all the time. I'm not saying it's a bad idea to change the filter! If that puppy looks old, I'd definitely replace it.

Check your codes, if nothing is stored in there, make sure you get a good look at your throttle body and clean it up. I've found many times this causes issues at startup and in idling immediately after decel. Good luck!
