ok guys I have decided I have to build it. I have a Ford Aspire that is begging for the shogun trick, rear engine SHO powerplant. I figure 200 hp and 1800lbs should be alot of fun at the Grassroots motorsports challenge.
Only thing is I need help finding the engine tranny and wiring for a super deal. Maybe a good running donor car. Like I said all I really need is a good engine and tranny. I prefer not to rebuild an engine or tranny. My car is too nice to get killed to be a donor. Any leads or help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Corey

220hp, and probably quite a few more lbs than that. The SHOGuns weighed in at about 2500 lbs. Other than that, I would definately recommend taking a look at the classifieds for the engine and trans. I am sure that you will be able to find something in there. Should be a kick @$$ project. Keep us up to date as it progresses. (sp?)

I would try ebay.

I have seen several GEN I , II and III avb.

The only problem is, i doubt you will be able to find many GEN I or II that would be excellent runners.
I would bet that allot of engines on EBAY could be junk.

I could be wrong !

Good luck!

I Hope I can get the weight lower than that but either way it should be alot of fun.
The aspire is 2100 lbs with full interior right now. I figure I will gain about 150-200lbs with the SHO stuff and lose 200+ by gutting the car completely. Thanks for your input guys.

BTW, where is here? Your location.

Depending on your schedule, I may have a 3.0 long block that runs great availible for you. It has pretty high mileage, but if you are serious about the $2004 GRM challenge, then cost is pretty key. I will let it go dirt cheap when the time comes. Space is at a premium for me!
