How light is your SHO? Mine is still fairly heavy and i already cut up the fenders and have the tires. I will see how it is at my next track event if i run into problems i change it over the winter.

IIRC Correctly, Eric has his Battery in the back as well as the tank for his Fire suppression system. I don't recall if that car has a Fuel cell back there as well.

It did have a fuel cell against the rear bumper, but it died (i.e., aged out and started leaking) so I replaced it with a stock tank. There's ballast in the trunk now.

My minimum competition weight is 3374 lbs, so I'm not especially light, either.

Wouldn't heating up 275 r compounds be like heating up a smaller street tire? I would think that if i couldn't get the tires that warm they would still be stickier than street tires. Other thing i was thinking of was that the glen can be a fast track and avg speed around the track can be pretty high by comparison maybe that will be in my favor.(i really only have been doing events at the glen)

R comps, until they have any kind of heat, are slicker than snot on a door ****. Even the A6, which is designed to have stick real quick (for auto-x application) can be pretty slippery till you really get SOME heat in 'em.

yes, for a high speed track like the glen, you should be pretty good. high speed will put heat in a tire as good as anything. just work your way into it, a couple of laps @ 7/10ths. you can always run lower pressures in the rear to help as well. hoosier's tire pressures specs are pretty high IMHO, so take their recommended specs (hot/cold) and subtract about 3-7 degree, depending. guys racing/winning on the A6/R6, aren't running a lot of pressure in them. lower pressure will shorten the useful life a little though.
