Ok. since i have gotten my 98 SHO it seems as if the A/C is not blowing as cold as it should be. Today I hooked the gauges up to it. With the car off the low side was sitting on 120psi. Crank the car up and the low side dropped to around 60psi. Let it run for about 10 minutes and it would only get to 70 coming out of the registers.

After revving the motor up the high side would spike to 375-400. Fans were running like they should. Condenser does not appear to be clogged. in order for the high side to jump up that high I only know of 2 possibilities. That being either the compressor is bad or there is a blockage in the high side. Thinking the orfice tube may be clogged.

Any thing else to check on the V8. This car uses a regular Taurus Compressor right? Orfice tube should be under the Degasser Tank right?

It's no regular SLO compressor. Sanden TR090 scroll compressor. I've been trying to find out if another car uses the same compressor and it does seem that there are a few but the clutch is different.

Ok thanks for the Info. Im going to pull the Orfice tube tomorrow and see if its clogged. If not I have to pull the front bumper to install a tranny cooler so I will be able to soak the condenser down with water to see if the A/C gets cold then. If not I guess I will need a compressor. I know where one is just have to see if the guy will part with it.
