What is there in the PP that you CAN'T replicate easily aftermarket? I mean, I understand that the PP is a great deal for what you get, but they're also less common than a standard SHO (which is already not common). From my reading on here, what you get is:

Different rear axle ratio
Better engine/transmission cooling

Those two seem like things that you get in the PP that you can't easily upgrade a 'base' SHO to meet or exceed (well, with $$$ all things are possible, but ...), and then ...

Sport-tuned suspension
Better brakes

These two seem like easier upgrades, right? What else am I missing?

There’s certain packaging you can’t have on the pp. I believe it’s the active park assist and lane keeping? Could be wrong. PP also comes with the inserts in the seats and wrapped steering wheel. Or at least it did

I believe the pp is actually slower in the 1/4 due to the gearing as well

The biggest thing your missing is the ability to turn off traction control completely in the PP.

OK, so ... gearing, enhanced engine/transmission cooling, brakes, suspension, traction control on/off. Anything else meaningful?

And, am I correct in saying that the brakes/suspension can be "bought back" in the aftermaket (albeit for more money)?

Also, what is the practical benefit of being able to turn of traction control? I know that this gives you better ability to squeal tires and lanuch quicker ... anything else? Any benefit for snow driving?

2013 could have Park assist and PP after that it was bundle together with lane keeping/adaptive cruise and not available on PP. The seat inserts were an option for any SHO not a PP thing, that's only the steering wheel.

You can swap out to the PP brakes/suspension if you choose. I wouldn't bother except maybe the brake pads.

Traction off is helpful on the track as you can get wheel spin with a tune and make the TC unhappy ruining your run. I never turn TC off or "sport mode" in the winter unless I want to hoon it.

This is not true. I can turn mine off no problem. Just hold the TC button down for 5 seconds while in park.

We have a tc button just not the advancetrac option. I can take traction off whenever I like to get a lil wheel spin.

The PP version of "full off" for traction control and advance-track can be added (along with, apparently, the steering assist change) using Forscan and twiddling a couple of bits.

What I've heard is 0-60, the PP loses a few tenths because of the 2-3 shift that occurs just before 60MPH. I don't think it's worse in the 1/4.

I like lower gearing, I can "pull" almost anything at a stop light. More advance/boost with a tune can only make that even better, the idea is to get the engine to "spool up" faster, taking advantage of the gearing.

PP has "traction control off" (push the TC button once) - "Advancetrac sport mode" (double-click the TC button) and "Advancetrac off" (hold the button down for 5 seconds, not moving, with foot on the brake), according to the display.

This 5-second "full off" seems to turn off TC as well.

The more fun thing to do is go with the "Advance sport mode" because it seems to do almost what a limited-slip diff does - allow the car to slide with both rear wheels spinning. TC off, or full off, it seems to just allow one wheel to spin and do whatever it wants. Which usually means an upshift, ending the experience ;)

I have tried the double tap on the "TC" button and it did not do anything but turn TC off then on. I can move the gear selector to s and change to using the paddles with Manuel shifting

PP or non-PP? I know on both my cars, the "double click" was awkward to get right. Too fast, too slow, turned TC off and on.

The button in the center stack in front of the shifter or in the menu on the left instrument cluster like Raging Bull posted? MY understanding only the PP cars have the button. Even with TC off Advance Trac is still on. PP gives you Sport mode for Advance Trac with TC off and full off. I can still get Advance Trac to intervene sometimes while in Sport mode but not usually in a straight line.

Sport mode on the shifter affects throttle response and shift points while not using the paddles. It will hold gears longer and downshift quicker. It will also not revert back to auto if you are using the paddles like it will in normal mode if you drive easy again.

Sport mode for Advance Trac has to be under a certain speed and a quick double tap should do it. All off seems trickier to me, Ford says 5 seconds but it is always longer for me and sometimes seems like it just doesn't feel like turning everything off.

And by the way, PP "full off" gets rid of some really horrible throttle lag in a turn. Let off, and expect to get back on the go-pedal with no delay? No way, without "full off". There's still some lag, but it's not like "hey, F'in move, damn it!"

OK, I know one click gets TC off, hold for 5 gets advance track off. It is displayed "advancetrac off" I will try the double click at low speed to see what happens.
