Now here me out.

I know their history with the sho. I know that they dont like to be reved. I know that they have a tendency to shred belts due to heat. I've read up on them somewhat... but im sure there is probably something i may be missing.

So I went to Ebay, just getting a feel for them. I stumbled across this place/item.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Powe...33741QQitemZ8008698558QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V

I have also been running the numbers on them. It seems at 40,000 rpm's you will be pulling the s/c'er out alot. And that the preferred number to shoot for is about 36,000rpm.
Now punching those numbers in.... with the sho's rpm at 7k and a pulley diameter of 3'' (not sure on what psi thats at, im assuming thats 6psi or so) on the s/c'er. The peak rpm of the unit would be somewhere around 42k. Granted that was using a estimated harmonic dampener size of 6''.(cant recall what it is off hand, but i figure thats close to it)

So with that being said. Since peak HP is attained around 6500 or so (i know there are alot of other vairbles in that estimate) and using a Tweecer, could we set the rev limiter to 6600? That right there would put you under the 40k rpm mark (maybe over a tad). And with the "upgrades" that the link provides, wouldnt that be sufficient to keep things in order? however winding the gearing out to 7k will put you back into the powerband faster. however (X2) with the added bonus of boost, i dont think that would be a problem. But i could be wrong.

I not trying to wake a sleeping giant with this. Im just giving it another troubleshooting/brainstorming thought process, whether it needs it or not. Plus it gets the brain a-working....

A 3" pulley on a vortech'd Mustang GT would make well in excess of 16 PSI

My friend had a 3.24 or something like that and was making 16lbs of boost

Josh, one thing you're forgetting.... Peak horsepower on a centrifcal blower SHO is not at 6,500 RPM. Peak power is pretty much as high as you can rev the motor with a blower that can handle it.

If you want to run the Powerdyne, I'd stay at a larger, low boost pulley. I think you'll regret it though. These things rip in the upper RPM's with a good blower. At least.... That's where I have my fun :)

Once you start spinning the blower to the it's max, it becomes less efficient. This is all fine if you're hitting the power levels you want and not seeing detonation. I believe my buddy was telling me about a Powerdyne that basically found its way through a motor of a Mustang because He spun it to hard. It can be done... But from my FUN experience, I'd stick with a Vortech S-trim at the least.

**note** I can't view the ebay auction here at work, so I'm not sure on the specs of it. **note**
