in the thunderbirds there are 2 power steering pumps. one for the quick steer rack and one for the normal rack. the one I'm putting the SHO engine in is a turbo coupe with the quick steer rack. Will the SHO pump work with my rack because that would save me ALOT of time for bracket fabbing.

I seriously doubt that the T-Bird and SHO PS pumps are interchangeable. The SHO's belt driven accessories are Japan sourced where the T-Bird is a product of the good ol' US of A. The (small) fist sized SHO PS pump uses a remote reservoir due to its tight mounting location (those that have replaced them know exactly what I mean) and most domestic pumps use and integral reservoir.

well, that is why I asked because my PS pump has the external resivoir. I thought that they might be interchangeable as far as pressures go because the SHO is a sports sedan and the Turbo Coupe was a sports coupe. The altenator is also of a denso design and might interchange with plug ins. If all these things interchange, I just have to find out what it takes to make the A/C compressor adapt and then I will have all my bracketry but the motoro mount brackets done and ready to go in the car.

cool, this just answered my question as to if i could use an MTX pump on an ATX. can the seals be replaced in a leaky pump easily?

I would think you'd be better off going with a remanufactured unit with a lifetime warranty. Either way, you have to go through the effort to remove and reinstall the pump.
