I consider my '92 mtx as having power "assisted" steering. unless you're pumping the gas, while sitting still, or have your foot on the gas while driving, it's like having manual steering. I'm pretty sure i'm gonna have to replace the power steering pump. I have noticed that the PSP is right up against the wheel well and firewall.

Am i gonna have to drop the engine out of the bottom of the car in order to change the pump?

I'm still learning cars, so please be patient.

You don't have to drop the engine but I think you might have to remove the back mount, and lower the rear of the sub frame. Don't quote me thou.

From what I hear those pumps are quite expensive... Dumb question, but is there enough fluid in the system?

You might want to try flushing the PS system.....

You cannot buy brand new pumps anymore...a remanned pump is around $150 at your local auto parts store...
