Ok what I was wondering under the terms of my warranty if my power steering pump is covered.

*taken directly off the warrenty slip*

STEERING COMPONENTS
Internally lubricated parts contained within the steering gear box and pump housing, including: rack and pinion, steering box and pump housings, if damanged by the failure of internally lubricated parts. Coverage limited to above parts.

Also got a question, My uncle(who doesnt know much about the Yamaha engine) said he needed a special pulley or tool to take the pump off. He said the gears were all messed up and there was more oil on there than in the engine.

Note that he worked at a Chrysler plant for 30 or more years, so he knows cars pretty well, but not my car real well. Thanks, Im gonna do a search also, but I wanted to know if you think this would be covered under my warranty!

Your steering system holds 2.5 pints. I would think if the pump is bad and you have a warranty worth anything it is covered.

They warranty should cover the pump. Your statement says pump housings so that would be the pump itself. The pulley comes right off with a normal socket. You just need to hold the pulley with something while you take the nut off. And four bolts hold the pump on: three in front and one on the back side of the pump (the pain in the ass one).
