Can someone please let me know what bearing would be adequate for a power steering pump rebuild? I'd rather not just use one in their kits, i'd like to go with quality. I don't know how to determine load force rating or any of that.

I had an atsco pump fail in a year, the bearing failed after 20k, so I tried lares and it honestly lasted two or three weeks. I sent the atsco back and had it rebuilt and that's what i'm running now. The original pump lasted nearly two hundred thousand miles I put a hundred of those on it. I'm using a belt tension gauge when setting the tension and using the lower end of the spec.

Rockauto now offers a delco pump with what they show in the pic an nsk bearing. If so that's a huge difference then the bearings atsco and lares use.

thanks, I forgot you offered brand new pumps. It's worth it not to have to do it again,

X2, I'd go brand new; get one while they are available!

It is a new item for us actually.

I thought I saw it browsing a couple months ago, I guess not.

I don't know what a tow costs these days, but if new is available it's worth the extra money. Thankfully i've never had to pay to tow any sho I ever owned, which is a miracle.
