Hello all. It's been a while since I posted about a power steering noise and I have yet to flush the fluid to see if that fixes the issue, work always takes up my time. So anyway, if I do end up having to replace the pump, is the power steering pump on the V8 the same that is used on a normal Taurus? Thanks for any help in answering my question.

If you are refering to the DOHC V6 (duratec), they are very similar. I can't say what the differences are between them, but know the part numbers are different.
There is no similarity between the V8 (yamaha) pump and the OHV V6 (vulcan).

Unless someone has more experience on the differences, I'd stick with the one available for our car. Looking around there are some on eBay and RockAuto.

I've got one or two good used ones around here somewhere.

Hit me up if you find you require one.

I know the Duratec pressure hose CAN be used to replace the V8 hose, but it needs a bend and tweek here and there if I recall correctly.

Hey thanks. I discovered today that the fluid was just low and that was causing the whining noise. I filled up the reservoir and the noise totally went away. I got lucky with that one.
