I just bought another SHO after being out of the game for a few years. I recall hearing something about a power steering mod you can do to tighten up the gear ratio in the steering rack. I can't recall if this could be done on a gen 2 or if it was a gen 3 only mod. Any help? I have a '94 MTX...

You're probably thinking of the mod to adjust the VAPS boost. While it doesn't change the gear ratio, it allows you to set the assist level and keep it there.

Instructions are in the SHOtimes FAQ at http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/mod...e=article&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&sid=186

Welcome back.

Yes I have thought about doing that mod for a while. In parking lots it seems too light, even though you don't need much feedback. While on the highway it feels as though there isn't enough asist. If I was going to change anything I'd put it in the second mode. I believe it has three.

I have wondered how hard it'd be to change the steering ratio in our gearbox though. Make is quicker, less...family sedan like. ;) Not sure if there is a swap out there that could work, or if someone could find a company to make different ratios with a group buy or something. :naughty:
