I did mine by removing the return line from the resevoir(the small hose). You need a short length of hose and a bolt to plug up the fitting so the contents of the resevoir don't flow out all over the place.

Place the end of the return line in a drain container(an antifreeze jug works good), start the car and let the system pump out while turning the wheels lock to lock several times. Then dump a quart or 2 of fresh organic fluid into the resevoir to flush the system, let that drain, reconnect the hose and refill with the synthetic.

When I got my '93 it had 125k on it and must have had the OEM fluid in it. Very burnt. I flushed it with a gallon of cheap ATX and then filled with Amsoil ATX. In a month it was just as dark. The new fluid was really cleaning things up.

So I siphoned the reservoir down and refilled with more cheap stuff. I would take a drop of the fluid and put it on a white paper towel to see how dirty it was. After a couple of days I siphoned the reservoir down again. Kept doing this every time it shoed up dirty for about a month.

I then unhooked the hose at the cooler and flushed again and refilled with Amsoil ATX. It has stayed clean now for a couple of years.
