How important is this. I bottomed out and now there is a small pinhole just below the resivior hose. Is this something I can bypass or does it need to be replaced. It's only a $40 part from Ford but has to be ordered and no salvage yards around here seem to have any SHO's

All I can say is that it is there for a reason. You could probably bypass it for the short term, but I would replace it as the final fix.

The SHO wasn't desinged for jumping/offroading. Mow if you lived in So. CAL I could understand because they like to put concrete ditches at every intersection rather than storm/water run off under ground.LOL :)
