Power Door Locks Problems

If the power door locks dont work from the remote and the actual door lock button on the door wont work can just the power door lock box be replaced to fix it? And if so do you have to get a new remote?

are you talking about the keyless entry system (including the keychain remote, and the drivers door keypad) not working, or the interior power lock buttons not working?
