I think by just turning on the receiver from the EATC controls, it puts up the antenna as long as the receiver has power. So the wire you would have to tap into would the antenna trigger wire from the receiver itself, not the EATC.

Yeah, I think that is how it works. I tried different situations and the antenna comes up no matter what.. even in tape so... I think that's the case..

Yeah, I'm not sure where the colors of these wires are coming from.... but I don't think they are right.. at all.

Per Paul's pictures, you have a black, green, red/back and red/pink wire. I would assume these are the positive and negatives for the motor.. most like 12V and maybe a 5V source.

The only yellow wire I see goes to the CD changer...

So, I set mine up like Paul and it works fine. So I guess just let those comments be forwarned to anyone looking to do this as the color of wires might not be correct.

The power antenna has a solid state control. There are 4 wires.

Black is ground

Dark Green hot at all times (so the antenna will go down when the car is turned off)

Red and Black (hot in start) my guess is to disable the antenna when trying to start

Red and Pink (wire from the RCU which tells the antenna to go up and down)

Ah, nice.

Well, I did end up hooking an SPST switch I had laying around to test it out. Works like a charm, BUT!

For the led light (yeah.. I know it's not a necessity..) is the thicker guage red/yellow wire a 12V source? If not, which wire would work best for hooking up to the power terminal?

The pink red wire should be hot when the radio is on so as long as there is a ground on the switch ( three connectors) then it will work.

yea kind of like what shoz123 said from what i remember the antenna is always hot to be in the down. and when powered it will go up. then when un-powered it will go right down.

i dont have mine hooked up because i have a aftermarket radio in my car. but do wanna hook it up so i can use the antenna. i did have it hooked to the radio but my radio powers that wire all the time. i just need to put a switch in between the power from the radio to the antenna power wire on my after market wiring kit. ill have to go out and look at my car and see what wiring form the factory harnees go's to the stock rcu which would power the antenna and all you would have to do is power that wire to put it up or un power it to put it down. just like my aftermarket harness does.

all you would have to do is snip that wire out of the stock harness and wire your switch into it.(just a on and off switch) and power that wire.if you havent figured it out yet ill go get you that info asap!(cars in the driveway=P)

make any sence?

Yeah, I already did it a couple days ago :p I was just seeing if maybe their was a wire that came from the back of the EATC to shorten up the wiring instead of going all the way back to the motor itself. Doesn't seem like there is though.
