As the intake must be disassembled to properly paint all the components (unless you have a BIG oven), how does one paint the IAB? It has that plastic connector on the end, and I'm afraid of it melting. Ive seen people with completely painted intakes, and was wondering on some different methods to get that one part done. Also, some tips/tricks would be handy =)

The powedercoating oves get over 400F so plastic will turn to it's premordial state.

I had my intake powedercoated by Shodwn and I sent him a paint sample that I had of some off-the-shelf spray can color. He matcherd it perfectly and I use the can paint on the non-powdercoatedable stuff.

Why make real aluminum look like painted steel? why not remove that ugly original powder coating and have them polished and then clear coat them? Seems to me that polished aluminum looks a lot better than any painted aluminum.

If you want some powdercoating done, Mike D. over at www.hypercoat.com has done quite a bit of intakes and valve covers for members here with rave reviews (including myself). Just go to his website and his contact information is there.

I've been dying to get my spare set of runners done in gloss black. I brought my intake plenums to Jeremy T. so he could perform his magic on them. They look good with the stock runner color, but, I think gloss black would compliment the polished plenums nicely.
