After owning the SHO for just over a year, it was time to change the look a bit...so gloss black powder coat for the wheels it is!

Had to shave off some of the powder coat to get the wheels to fit back over the hub though.

After that they fit no problem.

Thank you.

I got lucky and scored this Tommy Designs grille from a forum member last year. Last person I heard of ordering one from Tommy never received theirs so I'd be careful going that route.

Modern auto concepts/components on ebay has a setup for sale that looks quite similar. Pretty sure the upper and lower combo runs about $6-700 for both.

There have been quite a few guys that have ordered the mesh inserts from online providers and modded their OEM grille with good success now. Huge savings, but a very tedious job to have it come out in OEM quality.

Looks good! Powdercoat is the way to go, "F" that plasticrap. Second best way is to paint them yourself.
Thanks Ron.

I thought about the "plasticrap"(lol)...but my OCD would've killed me I bet .

I would use plasticrap for small stuff, like the rock chipped lower grill on my SVTF, but for major pieces like wheels (or whole cars, as some a-holes have done), it's not appropriate.

Oh I was tempted at a point. Seeing pics online they don't look all that bad. After using it on the taillights and rear chrome stripe I knew it wasn't what I wanted though. In person it's just dull, and somewhat of a debris magnet.

Only thing left dipped is that rear chrome strip now, and that has plans to change in the future.

I just dipped my wheels in black and then used the Glossifier - it turned out great! I'll post pics later. I know it's cheap and not the best way to go, but I cannot stand the ugly flower wheel design. At least with them all black they kind of look like the same design found on some Lamborghinis. I plan to keep these as my winter tire setup since I have them on a G-MAX all season tire. Then I'll use my factory summer tires and buy some nice black gloss wheels.
