On the intake would you powder coat or paint? Will paint even stick to the aluminum intake or what? Any one in Kentucky know of any powder coating in kentucky or closer?
Thanks!

Go Powdercoating all the way. I did a test paint on one intake and didnt like it at all. I got my entire intake and value covers painted for about $175. You will also pay more if you get different colors too. I will see if there is a place in Lexington,KY this weekend when I visit my parents.

How did you do the brake light shutoff. Also do the License plate lights shutoff as well, and reverselamps, parking lights?

Sorry, just curious.

Cheers,
Dan

Go with Powdercoating it will almost last for ever. And it doesn't chip that easy!! And it withstands heat really really well.

Extrude Hone told me it was better to powder coat it first. I got mine back scratched up. I am not happy.

No Problem Dan.

The brake Light wire is connected to the pedal. The wire is split between a relay. When the relay is on, it creates an open so the lights wont come on.

The reverse lights were also disabled too at one point with the same setup as the brake light. Those are back to normal. The parking lamps or license plate lamps were never cutoff. Not sure why you would want those off. Just turn off the lights. When I am on patrol(Fully marked Crown Vic) and I want to sneak thru a neighborhood, I just turn off all the lights and hit the brake light cutoff switch. The most light from my car is from the glare of the laptop inside. You can IM or start your own topic in the other forum section. I will be happy to answer what I can.

My question is, how do you get any closer to Kentucky than Kentucky?

Mike D. is a SHO owner that does insanely beautiful powdercoating. He has a great eye and will do ya good. His link is on the SHOforum homepage somewhere.

The original color is actually a powder coat.
Why make aluminum look like iron by using paint?
Why not polish and clear coat?
