Hi all

Recently came into the situation where it's time for a new car. Heavily leaning towards a lightly used SHO

I have one question regarding identifying the Performance Pack. I've read a few threads where there are various options you can identify that indicate a PP equipped vehicle.

One of those items (I believe) is the buttons in front of the shifter - appear to be traction/stability control buttons.

Is the assumption correct that if a vehicle DOES have these buttons (circled in pic below) that it IS equipped with the PP?

Really appreciate any feedback you can give. If there is something where I can run a vin to see the options, that'd be ideal, but if this is a good identifier, then that's sufficient for my needs.

Thank for any suggestions, and very much looking forward to becoming a part of the community!!

**one additional note -- the vehicle pictured here is a 2016 - if it's equipped w the PP, I'll likely be purchasing it

Check the axle code on the door sticker - 2A is the PP gear ratio (3.16 I believe).

Also, PP only came w/Alcantara steering wheel.

In 2016, the PP was not available with parking assist, the adaptive cruise control, or the emergency braking options. I BELIEVE that only the 2013 PP was available with those options - I had a 2013, with the parallel park assist.

The fact that there's the parallel parking button there on a 2016 means (to me) 100% it's not a PP. I could be wrong.

The absolute most fail-safe way to check is the axle code on the door sticker. Steering wheels can be swapped. Even the traction control button can be added. But the door axle code wouldn't change, unless someone swapped the door and didn't change the sticker to match the VIN.

Actually those 2 buttons are the auto parallel park option and the lane departure warning/assist. This normally means the car has the driver assist package which means it cannot have the PP package, they are mutually exclusive. I have the same buttons in front of my shifter, my car was purchased new, is a 2016 and has the driver assist package as I preferred it over the PP package. But do check the VIN, it will tell you for sure.

Just for clarity, my very early 2013 PP (April 2012 I believe) had the parallel park assist and I believe it was available with the other driver-assist stuff too. The confusion about this stuff out there (especially on Facebook) is astounding.

The pictured car being a 2016 is not a performance package car.

As for the unique steering wheel, if you've never seen it it will be about 90 suede (about the best description I can think of other than fuzzy leather, and the very top and bottom normal smooth leather) it is "thinner" than the wheel in this pictured car.

Yes, 2013 could have park assist and PP but not lane departure(not available with PP). 2014+ park assist was not available separately and became bundled with lane departure and adaptive cruise as a package.

Adding to the confusion I have seen a few posts from members who have a PP car and for some reason do not have the TC button which would be in place of the lane departure button if equipped.

Enter your VIN number at the end. Should bring up your window sticker. Worked for me when I was shopping for my SHO. Make sure you download the pdf. Only works once then you will have to clear your history and cache in your browser to use it again.
Says window sticker not released yet for me.

The 2016 PP only has the ESC button in that location, alcatera steering wheel, and no spare in trunk. Hope that helps

Make sure the warranty is still good and keep an extended warranty for powertrain in mind. Too much complex design for you not to protect yourself. I'm not likes warranty guy either. I think it is warranted for this platform

Car pictured is not a PP as others have said. If it were a PP, the button on the right (lane assist for you) would be the TSC button with a car doing a burnout.

You would also have the Alcantra steering wheel and (unless the PO added one) no spare tire only a (likely expired) fix-a-flat/air compressor combo.

There is alot of confusion regarding the ESC buttons on the center console. I understand with other years there are two buttons but my 2016 only has one button labeled ESC, you press it once to turn off ESC, twice to turn off advancetrac and the whole system. It will flash sport mode on the left LED dash screen when you do this. Also the 13+ PPs come with performance tires, I believe Michelins and then Pirellis with later years.

My 13 only has the one button. My understanding is all 13+ PPs have the single button for TC on/off, double tap for Sport mode, and hold for 10 seconds for Advancetrac completely disabled.
