so I had this crazy idea today, isn't that POR-15 stuff supposed to prevent more rust from happening, and provide a strong sealing layer from the application of it?

well it seems whenever I have a coolant leak on a SHO, its because of the steel pipes in the cooling system rusting out, so if I dunked say a part in it, wouldn't it sort of eliminate this problem forever... if the product works as claimed...

inside and out, I don't see what damage it could really cause by applying this to a part

for instance my coolant pipe by the oil cooler is leaking, and the one off my old 3.0 isn't in brand new shape either.... if I dunked my spare one in there do you think it would be more durable?

I did this to my steel cooling pipes on the V8.

Why would it not seal well? Is the OEM stuff not originally painted?
