One thing to remember as far as Al Fitz is concerned, regarding contacing:

AFAIK, he's either in the process of, or has already closed down the business, so he's probably relocating at the very least.

As for packaging, cardboard on damageable faces is a normal procedure for some large items (Sway Bars used to ship with the label stuck to them, for example). If it appears as though it was damaged in shipment, I'd check in with Greyhound if that was how it was shipped & see how they handle damaged in shipment claims.

Good luck with your transaction!

Actually I had a bad experience as well... The front bumper I recieved has a crack in it and the brace(the actual bumper that goes behind the cover) was shattered! I'm ok with that because I'll use my old one(if it's still good, if not, I'll get one from the 'yards). I am NOT, however, happy with the crack! Luckily it's in a spot you can't see, but it is on the outside. The other problem I had is my side skirts/door cladding are from a plus. I specifically asked for non-plus side skirts/door cladding and bumper and he sent a non-plus bumper and plus side skirts/door cladding. I'll paint the strip black and be done with it. I didn't even bother to complain to him... It's not worth the mental anguish...

I was wondering what is the purpose of attacking anyone that has a complaint about a vendor .I know most reputable vendors would want to know if there is a problem and correct it as soon as they can .I found out in short order that some people can be bashed and that is OK , but when I just wanted a moderator/vendor to contact me about a bad set of parts he sold me , my post was deleted immediately .so now we have turned it over to the better business bureau and that is a shame as I love this forum and think most here are honest and above board . I have never sold any parts but I have given a couple away to member's for nothing just to help a fellow shoforum member. we live on a set income and recently have had more troubles with my cancer so money is tight with more treatments starting Monday . what I wanted was just contact , email or phone call he has both of mine but neither of his works so there is no way of contacting him . I do not expect special treatment just what I paid for now he has the faulty parts and my money . so just because someone may complain about something do not jump to the defence of the vendor , as we have done nothing wrong but act in good faith with this guy (who I know if I mention his name this post will disappear ) and he does not even have the decency to contact me back . all I am told is he is going through some bad times right now well let him walk in my shoe's for a week then he will understand what bad times are really like . we are not talking about alot of money but to me and my wife it was more than we could afford to lose .

Let me explain some things for you, I tried to explain this via PM when you questioned me about your post but I guess maybe I wasn't clear.

Your post that you made was not deleted. All posts that go into this section are screened prior to their release into public view. The purpose of this is to keep bashing posts out of this section. People do tend to get on a bashing bandwagon and I personally am not going to spend an afternoon cleaning stuff up.

So, after our *** that you and I wrote back and forth and after you said that you'd received some contact from Kirk (yes, I said his name and no, this post isn't going anywhere) I then deleted the post from cue because I made a personal call thinking that your particular situation had reached resolve. If I was incorrect in that, then please accept my apologies. Given the facts that I know which I won't disclose because they are personal, I figured that perhaps a little contact by me might help push the situation along without anyone being publicly embarrassed. Again, if I was wrong and it didn't solve the matter, then please accept my apologies. I tried my best.

Sometimes I wonder why I even allow this section to be honest. It really serves no purpose other than to cause bitchfests to begin. Not only that, but when you purchase things on the forum or on eBay it is does not become the responsibility of the forum to make sure that everything goes smoothly. Nor is it the forum's fault. When you buy online you take chances. Any time I buy something online I have to weigh my choices. And I never trust that I'll ever receive the item that I buy, so my first thoughts are "What could I better spend this money on?" and "Do I really need this item." The way I see it you have a 50/50 chance of actually receiving the item.

And this is exactly why so many people get their parts from AutoZone and other local autoparts stores instead of purchasing them through online vendors. It seems the standards and expectations have fallen so low that online purchasers of SHO parts are now considered "lucky" if they even get the parts that they pay for.

It is indeed a sad state of affairs when the SHO community as a whole, already suffering from a lack of parts and vendors, can't even place their general trust in the vendors that are out there. A 50/50 chance of me getting something that I paid for just doesn't cut it.

I'm not trying to knock the good SHO vendors. But as is usually the case in life, the rotton apples are spoiling the perception of the entire bunch. Unfortunately, without any real avenues of public customer comment and criticism- such as a vendor feedback forum - there is little difference in many members' eyes between the reputable SHO vendors and the phonies and frauds.

Very true and sad indeed. But if you think about it, that's not just for parts for our cars. On any eBay deal you have good vendors and bad vendors. And no recourse to speak of either via eBay or Paypal which is exactly why I rarely purchase anything anymore on eBay.I thank my lucky stars for the good vendors that we have, they shine a bright light for all to see. They make things right even when it ends up costing them money and that's why they have repeat customers.

I agree with you Beth. Suffice to say that with worms, viruses, spam, and consumer fraud, there are some obvious drawbacks that people are simply going to have to factor in each and every time they consider doing business online.

And I suppose that, because online commerce is still a relatively new and developing phenomena, anyone having expectations for a "feel good" transaction every time out is probably relying a little too much on faith (hope?) and not enough on how things tend to really work in this day and age.

In any case, your "glass is half full" view - being thankful for the many good SHO vendors - is the better way of looking at things. I hope I didn't give the impression that I feel otherwise. :)

I think it's a matter of making an educated purchase. For instance, I won't purchase from a vendor that doesn't offer a phone number, one that doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner, etc. A good test is to ask the vendor a question prior to ordering. If they can't answer an email in a timely manner one must wonder how quick they would be to ship a product.

Hi Bizzy

Well I just now have seen you had written and posted my response .Thanks for all you have done for me personally to resolve this matter . But the last thing I wanted was for you to be bothered with my issue . I really think if I would have purchased something from you it would be here working and well packed:) But as to some other's they do not feel the same obligation .as far as Kirk go's he seemed nice to me and most people were happy with him so this may be just one of those thing's but an email giving progress would not be too much to ask .I have made a deal with two people to get part's from me one for free the other just for the shipping charges and they got theirs in less than a week . If for some reason I have a delay I call or write a person immediately but that has not been the case when I am on the buying end unfortunately . I personally can see your point in not wanting this to be a forum for bashing vendors but if it is not open when there is a complaint but only for those saying wonderful things then it serve's little purpose . I do want you not to worry about this you have been very nice to me and many other's on this forum . so please do not let this trouble you that was not my intention . I was just venting but definately not at you as you are tops in my book .

I totally understand. It's not that I don't want people to post about their bad experiences at all, but what I do want to avoid are posts that are made in a non-mature fashion or gang-bang bashing which often happens after a negative feedback thread is posted. Sometimes people will get on a vendor bashing spree and sometimes people will bash the person who had a negative experience, it all depends on who the vendor is, or so it seems. Nothing more is intended in the least by my screening of the posts.

::Cheers!::

Rule of thumb, if seller does not respond to emails before purchase most likely he will not respond after purchase, to me that a red light, stop, look else where.

I'm not a newbie and I feel I was also ripped off by Mr. Fitz. I waited 3 months for yamaha emblems only for a reply that I should have received the emblems already. After replying I had not he refused to ship my emblems.
